DESIGN & DRAFTING SERVICES

360 Fire Protection Designs provides fire sprinkler design and drafting services and does not represent itself as a professional engineering firm or provide professional engineering services unless such services are specifically identified in writing and performed by an appropriately licensed professional.

Where a project, state, local jurisdiction, Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), building department, fire department, or other governing agency requires plans, calculations, or other documents to be prepared, reviewed, signed, sealed, certified, or submitted by a licensed professional engineer, architect, fire sprinkler contractor, or other licensed professional, those services and responsibilities are not included unless specifically stated in writing.

JURISDICTIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Fire sprinkler design, licensing, permitting, submittal, certification, and professional engineering requirements vary by state and local jurisdiction.

Before beginning a project, applicable requirements of the local Authority Having Jurisdiction should be confirmed.

Acceptance of a project by 360 Fire Protection Designs does not represent or guarantee that our services alone satisfy every professional licensing, contractor licensing, engineering, permitting, or submittal requirement applicable to that jurisdiction.

Additional services or involvement by an appropriately licensed contractor, engineer, architect, or other qualified professional may be required.

CODES & STANDARDS

Fire sprinkler designs are prepared using applicable project information and the codes and standards identified for the project, which may include:
NFPA 13 – Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems
NFPA 13R – Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems in Low-Rise Residential Occupancies
NFPA 13D – Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems in One- and Two-Family Dwellings and Manufactured Homes
Applicable building codes, fire codes, local amendments, manufacturer requirements, and AHJ requirements may also apply.
Applicable code editions and local amendments vary by project and jurisdiction.

CLIENT-PROVIDED INFORMATION

Designs are prepared using project information made available to 360 Fire Protection Designs, including architectural plans, structural information, ceiling information, water supply information, specifications, field measurements, existing system information, and other documents provided by the client or other project participants.

The client is responsible for providing accurate and current project information.

Changes to architectural plans, structural conditions, ceiling configurations, water supply information, building use, field conditions, or other information after design work has begun may require revisions and additional design fees.

FIELD CONDITIONS & COORDINATION

Fire sprinkler plans should be coordinated with actual field conditions prior to and during installation.

The installing contractor is responsible for verifying field dimensions, existing conditions, obstructions, structural conditions, equipment locations, and constructability before installation.

Conflicts or conditions that may affect the fire sprinkler system should be brought to the attention of 360 Fire Protection Designs before affected work is installed.

HYDRAULIC CALCULATIONS

Hydraulic calculations are based on the water supply information and system conditions available at the time the calculations are prepared.

Changes to water supply conditions, system configuration, pipe sizes, sprinkler types, elevations, backflow prevention devices, meters, pumps, or other components may affect hydraulic performance and may require calculations to be revised.

AHJ REVIEW & APPROVAL

All fire sprinkler plans and calculations are subject to review and acceptance by the applicable Authority Having Jurisdiction.

Requirements and interpretations may vary between jurisdictions and individual reviewers.

360 Fire Protection Designs does not guarantee permit issuance, plan approval, or acceptance by any Authority Having Jurisdiction.

Comments or corrections issued during plan review may require revisions to the design. The extent of included plan-check revisions will be governed by the applicable project proposal or agreement.

INSTALLATION

360 Fire Protection Designs provides design and drafting services only unless additional services are specifically identified in writing.

Responsibility for installation, materials, workmanship, testing, inspections, code-compliant installation practices, job-site safety, and compliance with contractor licensing requirements remains with the installing contractor and other responsible parties.

Plans should not be used as a substitute for required field verification, manufacturer installation instructions, applicable codes and standards, or the professional judgment of the licensed contractor responsible for installation.

NO GUARANTEE OF APPROVAL

Every reasonable effort is made to prepare clear and accurate fire sprinkler design documents based on the project information provided and applicable design criteria.

However, because requirements and interpretations vary among jurisdictions, reviewers, and projects, no representation or guarantee is made that a design will be approved without comments, corrections, revisions, or additional requirements from the AHJ.
